This book analyses the situations that lead to dropouts and the situations they are living with. The book has been divided into seven chapters which provide conceptual understanding on school dropouts, various National Policy & Programmes on Education in India, existing quantitative and qualitative views and emerging issues on school dropouts. Situational analysis of school dropouts has brought forward various vital issues to the forefront in a cumulative manner. In the end a synergetic Social Work Intervention Model has been developed highlighting interventions at various levels and with various groups. The book would provide a holistic view and a comprehensive perspective to the problem of school dropouts. Dr. Rama Srivastava, has done her doctorate from the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi. With over six of industry and 10 years of teaching experience, she has been teaching a variety of papers to Graduates and Post Graduate students of business management. She also has to her credit more than 10 articles published in national and international journals of repute. Her interest in the field of children and education is not new. She has worked in various projects revolving around Children. Presently she is directing a major research project funded by ICSSR on the "Role of IT enabled interface in bridging the Skill Gap: A study of Higher Education Institutions".
