The current book “Managing Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) as An Economic Resource” is a culmination of Professor Tewari’s work on management of NTFPs in general. This book provides a global perspective on management challenges with respect to the NTFPs in different parts of the world. Furthermore, the book addresses different issues of NTFPs, including management concepts and ideas, income and employment generation potential, economic trade and marketing, valuation, resource management and policy-making experiences around the world. The book outlines a new framework for managing NTFPs on sustainable basis and efficiently.

Prof. D.D. Tewari is currently the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Administration and Law at the University of Zululand, South Africa. His areas of interest include primarily natural resource economics, educational and financial economics. Professor Tewari has served at various institutions including IIM, Ahmedabad, India, University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, prior to joining Unizulu. He has published widely on NTFPs. His earlier reported work on NTFPs include two books entitled: Economics and Management of NTFPs: A Case Study of Gujarat, India; Management of NTFP Resources of India: An Analysis of Forest Development Corporations.
