This book is mainly intended for the agricultural courses of graduate students in the field of agriculture, and horticulture. Semester system of education of B.Sc.(Ag.), and B.Sc. (Horti.), students are quite dynamic for which the students are to be helped for changeover. We can identify their difficulties for comprehensation of language, non-availability of textbooks for their semester system. There is a need to use simple language. The present book titled “A Text book of Agriculture” suite to the need of students. Dr. Aashish Vivek Vaidya presently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, SDMVM, Georai Tanda, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He completed his Bachelor's Degree from Agriculture College, Dhule, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Maharashtra and Master's Degree (Horticulture - vegetable science) from Sheer-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Srinagar, J and K (India). He is awarded with Gold Medal and Certificate of Merit with 1st rank at University level, in the respective discipline. He completed his Ph.D. in Horticulture (Vegetable Science) from Post Graduate Institute, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Maharashtra, India. His fields of specialisation are vegetable breeding, crossing programs, producing F-1 Hybrids and Floriculture / Landscaping. He is also awarded as an INSPIRE FELLOW from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, which is equivalent to SRF (senior research fellow) of ICAR. He has membership of different National and International Societies and has published seven full-length research papers and one Popular Article in different International Journals. Dr. R. Saran presently working as Assistant Professor (Agricultural Entomology), Adhiyamaan College of Agriculture and Research, Athimugam, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. He completed his bachelor's degree from AC & RI, TNAU, Coimbatore, T.N. and master's degree from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Srinagar, J & K (India). He completed his Ph.D. in Agriculture (Entomology) from Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, T.N. (India). His fields of specialisation are mass production of bio-control agents and hosts, DNA extraction from rice and residue estimation using HPLC and GC. He received several awards and recognitions. Dr. Rajan has membership of different national and international societies and attended many sympoisa/conferences. He has published 13 research papers/abstracts in different national and international journals.
