About The Author
B. B. Hosetti (b. 1957), currently Professor and Chairman, Department of Zoology and Wildlife Studies and Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Kuvempu University, Shankarghatta, Shimoga, obtained his M.Sc; Ph.D.; Cy.Ed. Degrees from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He is the recipient of all meritorious fellowship awards of CSIR (JRF, SRF, RA), New Delhi, India. He has carried out extensive research on the field of biological treatment of waste waters. He has been involved in the teaching of Zoology and Environment Sciences at Post Graduate levels for the past 30 years. He supervised the works of 25 candidates for Ph.D. and 12 for M.Phil. programmes. He himself has worked in collaboration with several institutes across the world. He is recipient of Leverhulme fellowship from University of Salford, England, and Ambassadorial fellowship from Massachusetts University, Amherst, USA. Indian National Science Academy (INSA) to visit Deptt. of Botany and Zoology, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, as a visiting faculty. Received the Vijayashree Award by IIFS, New Delhi. He has published more than 250 research papers in various peer reviewed journals. He has also published more than 20 books both in English and Kannada languages on Wildlife, Biodiversity, EIA, Ecotourism, Avifauna, Aquatic Pollution etc. He is now working on the funded projects (DBT and UGC) on biological control of pentatomidae bugs and conservation and management of sloth bear in Daroji Sanctuary, Karnataka.
Dr. D. Bharathi has been working as Professor, Deptt. of Sericulture, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati. She acted as Dean, School of Sciences, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati for a period of 3 years. She worked as Head, Department of Sericulture and Zoology, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati. Dr. Bharathi has published 194 research papers/papers in national and international journals and international conferences, seminars and workshops. She has received Best Teacher Award from Andhra Pradesh State Government for the Year 2008. She was appointed as Member of Executive Council of Sri Padmavati Mahila University, Tirupati. Dr. D. Bharathi has been selected for Chinese Government Scholarship for Post-Doctoral Research in Sericulture for a period of one year from September 2000-July 2001. She has been nominated as Honorary foreign member of Sericulture Society of Zhejiang University, P.R. China in 2000. She is the life member of Indian Academy of Sericulture, Odisha, National Academy of Sericulture Science and Technology, India (NASSI), and National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), Delhi.
