Forestry is the science, skills and activities related to the human utilisation of the big plants called trees and the land on which they are growing. The science of forestry has elements that belong to the biological, physical, social, political and managerial sciences. Forestry is an important economic segment in various industrial countries. Dr. (Ms) Alka Kushwaha, B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. (P.P.N. College, Kanpur) from C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur (U.P.). She worked as Assistant Professor in D.G. College, Kanpur during 2005-2009 and then joined D.A.V. College, Kanpur on regular basis, teaching Botany subject at Graduate level. Published 15 research papers, 25 abstracts in various National and International Symposia and 2 chapters in edited books. Also co-organised two National Conferences in D.G. College, Kanpur. She was awarded Fellow of the Society of Plant Protection Sciences, New Delhi.
