The present book is written as a guide for the candidates, who appear in UGC-NET/SET/SLET examinations to be successful for the selection and appointment as Assistant Professor in library and information science departments and assistant librarian in university libraries as well as librarians in other regional institutions and Academic Institutions in India. We are very happy in presenting the 4th revised and enlarged edition of the book: Objective Questions in Library and Information Science (Paper II) according to new syllabus and patterns of NET/SLET examinations. In the book, the whole matter has been arranges into 10 units as prescribed by the UGC for the NET test. In the end matching type questions and answers have also been provided for matching of words with their meanings and Abbreviations also for the use of the aspirants.
The book entitled “LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE REFERENCE MANUAL FOR UGC NET/ LECTURESHIP/SLET/SET COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS: OBJECTIVE TYPE QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS”. It is in fact, a humble attempt to bring MCQs in a nutshell for easy comprehension by students of Library and Information Science field. This Book is divided into ten chapters. The nine chapters deal with one specific branches of the discipline. The tenth chapter is true and false type questions.
We hope that this book, it will be helpful to the candidates of Library and Information Science appearing in UGC-NET/JRF and SLET and other competitive examinations and various interviews.
About The Author
Dr. N.O. Natarajan, presently working as Assistant Professor in
Department of Library and Information Science, Annamalai University,
has obtained his PhD in Library and Information Science from
Annamalai University. He has 13 years of teaching experience. He holds
BSc, MLIS, MPhil degrees. He has produced two Ph.D and 12 M.Phil
scholars. Further, six scholars are doing Ph.D under his guidance, and
his areas of interest are Information Seeking Behaviour, Information
and Communication Technology, Bibliometric and Scientometric
studies. He is a life member of ILA and SALIS, TLA, MALA, and has published more than
60 research papers in international journals, and also more than 56 research papers in
national level journals. He has presented a number of research papers in various
conferences/seminars in national and international levels. He is an associate editor of
IJIRM (International Journal of Library and Information Science), he is one of the editors in Time
Journal of Social Sciences (TJSS-International). He is member in board of studies and external
examiner in few universities. He has published three books and has contributed more than
fifteen chapters in various books both in national and international levels.
