About The Author

Dr. Purnima Singh Sikarwar currently works as an Assistant Professor at AKS University, where she has been employed for the past 4.5 years. She holds a degree in Agriculture, a Master's in Agricultural Science with a specialization in Horticulture (Floriculture and Landscaping) and she qualified ASRB (NET) in the same field. Additionally, she has successfully earned her Ph.D. in Horticulture. Dr. Sikarwar has made significant contributions, with 14 research papers, 45 popular articles, 5 book chapters and 3 books to her credit. Her excellence has been acknowledged through prestigious awards, including the Junior Young Scientist Award in 2016 and the Young Scientist Award in 2020. Recent accolades include the Best Article Award in 2021 and the Nari Shakti Samman in 2022, both recognizing her outstanding work in floriculture and landscaping on Women's Day. Furthermore, Dr. Sikarwar has been a sought-after horticulture expert on “Akaashwani” and various TV talk. Committed to serving the farming community, contributing to social causes and engaging in teaching and research, she stands as a dedicated professional in her field. Dr. Narendra Singh was born on 25 June 1969 in District Fatehpur, U.P. He is presently working as a Professor and Head of the Department of Agronomy, as well as the Associate Director of Extension at Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda. Dr. Singh obtained his B.Sc. (Ag.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) degrees from Agra University, Agra. He continued his academic pursuits, earning a Ph.D. in Agronomy from MGCG University, Satna (M.P.). Dr. Singh has a total of 32 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension, including 23 years as SMS, Agronomy, 4.5 years as a Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, 3 years as an Associate Professor, and 4 years as a Professor. He has guided 4 MSc students and 3 PhD students. His scholarly contributions include more than 60 research papers, 3 books, 8 book chapters, and over 100 articles. Dr. Singh also possesses extensive experience in managing 10 national and 5 international projects under extension and research themes. Additionally, he has played a key role in developing 20 folders and more than 40 technical reports. Dr. Akhilesh Chandra Mishra is presently working as professor (Vegetable Science) and Director Research at Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda, U.P. He has about twenty two years' experience of teaching research and extension. He has developed three varieties in vegetable crops viz., UHF VR12-1 in vegetable rai (Brassica juncea), UHF R12-1 in radish and UHF Chaulai 12-1 in Amaranth as Main Breeder at Ranichauri. He has also registered a unique germplasm of Great Headed Garlic Alliumampeloprasum var. ampeloprasum) UUHF/ACM/G11-1 (IC0598236) having bolder size bulbs and cloves with Plant Germplasm Registration Committee of ICAR by No. INGR16035 at Ranichauri. Dr. Mishra has executed about 20 mega- & minor-projects as P.I. or Co-P.I.Dr. Mishra has published more than 160 publications including 86 research papers, 33 popular articles, 20 extension/academic bulletins, 07 books/booklets, 05 book chapters and 22 research abstracts. He has also received five awards: Best Extension Scientist Award-2017, Vice-Chancellor's Appreciation Certificate, Distinguished Service Award-2019 and Excellence in Agricultural Research & Extension Award-2019 from different organizations for Exemplary Service. Dr. Anand Singh is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Fruit Science at the Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda. With nearly Twenty years of experience in teaching, research and extension. Dr. Singh earned his Master's and Doctoral degrees from AAI-DU, Allahabad, U.P. His professional journey began as a Senior Research Fellow at AAI-DU, Allahabad, U.P. and later as a Programme Coordinator at Krishi Vigyan Kendra-II Sitapur (U.P.) India. Dr. Singh has contributed significantly to various projects, serving as Principal Investigator (P.I.) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-P.I.) for about seven projects. He has a prolific publication record, with over 100 publications, including 20 research papers, 7 booklets, 8 book chapters, and 30 articles. Recognizing his achievements, Dr. Singh has received seven awards from different organizations, highlighting his notable contributions to the field of fruit science and agriculture. Dr. Sharad Kumar Singh is currently serving as an Associate Professor, Agronomy and Head DEpartment of N.R.M., College of Forestry at Banda University of Agriculture and Technology in Banda. He holds a B.Sc. (Ag.), M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. (Ag.) in Agronomy from RBS College Agra. He has dedicated 18 years of his career as a Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) in Agronomy at KVK R.B.S. College Agra. Following this, he contributed four years as a Lecturer in Agronomy at Ch. CS.-SDS PG College Iglas Aligarh and two years as a Senior Technical Consultant at Sai Biotech Limited, New Delhi. Dr. Singh published more than 20 research papers, two articles and 38 Summer School/Winter School/Seminars/Symposia/Workshop/Training Courses as well as delivered three radio talks, He has received the Appreciation Award, Presidential Appreciation Award, Young Scientist Award, Scientist of the Year Award, Best Extension Professional Award, Recognition Award, Best KVK Professional Award (twice), Excellence in Research Award and the Eminent Scientist Award. These honors reflect not only his individual achievements but also the impact he has made in agricultural research and extension services.
